Manzanillo 2004

Doug picked a point about 50 miles off shore to go to on the first day.  The other boats stayed closer to shore and took the more direct route to Mexico.  Going far out side turned out to be a GREAT move.

In one 24 hour period we did 248 miles.

We took a LOT of stuff off the boat before we left. Lean and mean. Dan, pre race.  Dan did pit, drove and most of the cooking. Jody, pre race. Jody got the "Paddy Wagon" banner made and set up for the finish. Rainy morning in San Diego.  A big rain storm came in.  Predictions of a bumpy  and wet start for the race. Mike and I left our foul weather gear n the boat. Mike built a rain coat.  Mike had tools and supplies hidden all over the boat.
