Sandstone Peak is the highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains at 3111.

I and five friend did the Sandstone Peak trial.  About 7 miles and 1500 feet of elevation.  We followed the Mishe Mokwa trail and some of the Backbone trail. We took a leisurely four and a half hours.  Only got rained on during the last two miles going down hill.
